Hi! Thanks for being here! I am Dr. Diane.
I have helped people for over 30 years with their health and I can help you too! Why?
• I am an avid health enthusiast!
• I worked as a Chiropractic Doctor for 16 years before I turned my attention in 2012 to coaching people who are struggling with their weight.
• As a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach Certified Lifestyle Medicine Coach, and a Certified Personal Trainer, I have assisted hundreds of women and men along their weight-loss journey to reach their desired health and wellness goals.
I'm no stranger to being overweight. I have struggled with my weight for years and years.
Starting at the age of 16, I had a weight problem.
Through the years, I have tried many diets -
• Low carb
• Low fat
• Diet shakes
• Counting calories
• Counting points
I have personal and successful experience with weight loss. I lost 47 pounds using food math. YOU KNOW, the tedious job of counting calories or points. And like a normal human being, when my focus was not on counting, at times, my weight waxed and waned more than I liked. (Cliffhanger-read more below)
THE MYTH - I was told I would always be overweight because it was in my genes.
Unfortunately, in fact, all my birth family is obese each with various health issues of
• High Cholesterol
• High Blood Pressure
• Diabetes
• Coronary artery disease (heart disease/heart attack)
• Colon cancer
Fortunately, and thanks to Lifestyle Medicine, this is not part of my personal health history.
I do have an autoimmune disease -
In 2010, I was diagnosed with autoimmune arthritis, a cousin to Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I experienced:
• Swollen joints in my hands, feet, and shoulders, in particular.
• I was in a lot of pain and had difficulty with basic activities in life including getting dressed and walking.
• After my diagnosis, I was taking four different medications.
This was not the life I wanted to live. I did some research and made some changes to my eating, exercise and stretching consistently, and improving my sleep quality.
Through Lifestyle Medicine, I learned –
Although my arthritis has a genetic connection, I learned -
"Your genes are not your destiny.
You can turn on and off the expression of these genes,
depending on what you eat and lifestyle choices you make."
In 2019, I learned about Lifestyle Medicine and the power of Plant-Forward eating and the tremendous impact it can have on one’s health.
Changing to Plant-Forward eating felt overwhelming to me. So, I thought I would view it as an experiment to see what would happen. I took it in small steps, and you can too.
• I started with Meatless Mondays then Meatless Tuesdays.
• Next, I stopped eating meat! o WOW! What a difference I felt. I had less pain and more energy.
• The months that followed, I continued to substitute animal products with plant-based foods, e.g., instead of dairy milk, I would have plant-based milk in my coffee.
• The more changes I made, the better I felt. By mid-year of 2021, I was following a Whole-Food, Plant-Forward way of eating.
What’s the Cliffhanger Ending? - I have successfully maintained my 47-pound weight loss for 20+ years and it’s EVEN EASIER with Plant-Forward Eating. NO COUNTING ANYTHING! The key is eating Nutrient Dense foods.
Making these changes has helped me. Guess what? This can help you too!
My Health Journey Continues, as yours does too.
As a result, and with the guidance of my rheumatologist, I am off two of the medicines that I was taking before making my switch to plant-based eating.
Oh, and the other two medications? I am now taking half of my original dosage.
To date, I do not have any more swelling and I rarely have any pain.
Plant-Forward eating and Lifestyle Medicine has given me my health back while minimizing my medicine intake and I can help you make that change too!
YES!! YOU, TOO, can change the trajectory of your health and I can help you make that change more quickly!
Don’t wait any longer, your health depends on it!

On a personal note:
I’m married to my amazing husband, Gary, and together we’ve raised four incredible daughters who are now grown and off charting their own paths. We live in the peaceful town of Carnation, WA, where we embrace a laid-back country lifestyle.
I’m the proud owner of a 1928 Ford Model A Roadster (yes, it still runs—and yes, I drive it!).
In our free time, you’ll often find us out walking our three lovable Labradors—two chocolate, one silver—while our sassy little kitty supervises from home and keeps the dogs in line.
I’m a beekeeper and a backyard gardener, always tending to our veggie beds and enjoying the rhythm of nature. It’s all part of staying grounded, balanced, and connected to the things that bring joy.
